According to IBM, there are two drivers for success in a post-digital world. The first is to evolve/change your value proposition. The second lever is:
“Reshaping the operating model –The operating model can be realigned so that customer preferences and requirements inform every activity in the buying and selling chain. Doing this requires integrating all business activities and optimizing how data related to those activities is optimized.”
With these two levers, they identify three paths: ops first, then value prop; value prop first, then ops; both at the same time. I personally don’t believe the latter two are valid. More on that some other time.
Long live operations!
