In London for a few days on business.
A few things.
Wayfinding here is amazing. Streets are confusing as a MF, but at least (a) they all have signs and most are consistently designed and (b) almost all buildings I’ve seen have their full address somewhere on the outside. Helpful
I find myself saying, “English thing is English” so frequently. I know it’s crazy to say, but new countries are new worlds. Between UK and US, it’s mostly the little stuff, but it’s still significant and fascinating.
Walking patterns on sidewalks do not mirror the street directions, which is weird. Didn’t expect that.
People are crazy helpful.
Everything is exceptionally old, and as I was telling the lady, roughly 50% of buildings hope to grow up to be castles.
