I just renewed exitcreative.net. It’s been a year since I registered the domain name, and in that time, I’ve tried to do a few different things with it. This blog is by far the most successful. It’s taught me a huge amount about advertising and certainly helped me figure out how I want to think about branding. Also hugely significant are the people that I’ve connected with as a result.
When I first registered the domain name, I figured it would be an online place for my resume and portfolio. It still is that, to a certain extent, at the “general” domain. I then added my cousin’s work (Nathan’s music and Adam’s art) as well as my Mom’s quilts and my half-baked idea for a car magazine. All that activity occurred in January & February, and you can see how “successful” that was. ;]
The above stats are for the whole year. I figured I would post my year-end figures and see what’s changed when 2007 comes to an end. It’s really hard to track how well a blog is doing, but I have noticed in the last month a rise in comments, pageviews and the like. I don’t know if it’s anything that I’m doing, or if more people are just making their way to the site somehow. So far, in addition to the pageviews, visitors, etc. listed above, I have 133 posts and 219 comments. I think that’s good, that comments outnumber posts, right?
So, readers, is there anything you’d like to see more of? Anything you liked? Didn’t like?
Anyhow, thanks for stopping by, thanks for reading, thanks for linking back, and I hope everyone else had a good year of blogging.
